Dottie and Lizzie are a truly bonded pair, each bringing her own story and charm to the mix. Dottie is a Turkish Van with unmistakable calico markings and the classic Van “thumbprint” on her shoulder—a symbol some consider lucky. She’s easy to spot, not just because of her looks but for the gentle, almost comforting way she interacts. Dottie likes to rest her head on a hand or arm, seeking connection and reassurance, and if you listen, she’ll treat you to little conversations and the occasional contented suckling—a habit she picked up from being separated from her mother too soon. Once she trusts you, she melts into pure affection. Lizzie, the dilute calico, is Dottie’s opposite: playful, small but full of kitten-like energy, and always ready for the next game. She has a mischievous streak and occasionally tries to play with hands, but she’s smart and quick to learn. Gentle redirection keeps her on track, and she always circles back for cuddles. These two met under rough circumstances and leaned on each other to heal. Now, they’re side by side, checking in, napping together, and alternating between peaceful cuddles and hilarious bursts of acrobatics. Dottie provides the calm while Lizzie brings out the playful.
