About Colt
Colt is five years old and weighs in at just 5.5 pounds, but he carries himself like a little VIP. He’s usually happiest tucked into someone’s arms or snoozing on a warm lap, occasionally keeping an eye on daily affairs from a very comfortable spot. Recent challenges, including a tough ear infection and dental surgery, haven’t managed to shake his affectionate spirit—he’s as sweet and loving as they come, and soaks up every ounce of pampering from his people. Colt is still working on his house-training, so his foster family uses a belly band. He much prefers sleeping in bed with you at night and isn’t a fan of crates. Socially, he wants to be the only lap dog—he’ll grumble if another dog invades his cuddle time, but no one can hold it against him when snuggling is his clear top priority. He’s not experienced with kids or cats in care so far. A hike or long walk isn’t really his speed; leashes and grass tend to make him uncomfortable, and he’s happiest being carried. Because he can get nervous in new situations, he needs a securely fenced yard. His foster mom is convinced he’s one in a million. Colt’s looking for someone ready to adore him just as much as he’ll adore you. He’s currently heartworm positive and treatment has started, which Wish Bone will continue to support through their vet or by providing medication to yours. Colt has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and is up to date on parasite prevention. He’s a Gemini—no surprise for such a charming companion. Ready to fall in love?
