About Nettie & Maxwell
Nettie and Maxwell are a tightly bonded pair of Labrador Retriever mixes who came into rescue after a rough start. Both siblings landed on the euthanasia list in Houston after being picked up by animal control; fear kept them frozen in the shelter, but seeing each other in foster brought them back to life. From day one, they made it clear they are a package deal—splitting them isn’t possible. These two share their foster home with other dogs and several cats, and they get along great with everyone—including a gentle attitude toward their foster’s two-year-old special needs toddler. While initially shy and skittish, Nettie and Maxwell reveal their affectionate, playful sides once they warm up. They’re pros at sharing toys and love running and digging in their fenced yard (which is a must for them—fence required). Both are crate trained, fully house trained, and know how to settle in with the family. Maxwell gravitates toward Nettie for confidence, and their dependence on each other is deep. They’re both spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, and ready for a home that can give them security and affection. Adoption fees are negotiable, as the rescue’s top priority is finding them the environment they need to thrive. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
