Sassy came to us as a young feral kitten who had very little trust in people and struggled with being touched. In her early days, the only time she would allow any affection was when her best friend, a fellow feral cat named Buddy, was nearby. Since Buddy’s adoption, Sassy has had to find her confidence on her own—and she has made incredible progress but is still being socialized. While still a shy girl, Sassy has slowly begun to come out of her shell. She has discovered her voice and isn’t afraid to let you know when she wants something! She loves spending time watching the world from a window and enjoys affection on her own terms. As her trust grows, so does her willingness to interact with the people she knows. Sassy will need a patient and understanding adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to continue building confidence. She is still a flight risk and can be quick to dart toward an open door, so a secure home and careful introductions to new environments will be important. She has also made great strides with her food sensitivity. What was once a significant challenge has improved greatly, and she is now learning to comfortably share space around food with other cats and grooms those she chooses too. She hasn’t been a fan of the kittens We have had but come around eventually Sassy is a sweet, independent girl with a playful and loving side waiting to shine. When startled, she tends to retreat and hide rather than confront a situation, but once she feels safe, her personality begins to emerge. She enjoys having her own space, but she also appreciates gentle attention from people she trusts. With patience, consistency, and one-on-one attention, Sassy has all the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. She is looking for a home that will celebrate her progress, respect her boundaries, and help her continue her journey toward confidence and trust.
