About Pluto

Pluto came off the streets knowing he belonged indoors, not out. At 18 months and built solid—13 pounds of black short-hair cat muscle—he’s ready for a real home. Pluto doesn’t care for personal boundaries; he’s always nearby and wants to help with anything you’re doing, whether it’s in the kitchen or cleaning up. Give him a pole toy, and he’ll show off acrobatics worthy of a gold medal. He’s also a talker, wandering the house voicing an uncannily clear "hello" to anyone who’ll listen. Kids are his passion—Pluto is gentle with infants, playful with older kids, and beams when in the middle of family activity. He’s a champion cuddler: headbutts, rumbling purrs, even tolerating plenty of kisses. His foster setup keeps him too isolated and he clearly craves more time with people, so he’d do best in a household where someone is home most days, such as retirees or remote workers. He loves car rides and attaches closely, ready to follow his person anywhere. One key thing: Pluto needs to be the only cat in your home. He’s based in Columbia, SC, and can meet potential adopters in person or virtually if you’re on the East Coast. Transport to the Northeast is available weekly.
