About Avocado
Avocado is a striking, long-haired white cat with a gentle, affectionate nature. While he’s shy at first, he really opens up once he gets comfortable and seeks out affection and cuddle time. He has an independent streak and does fine exploring on his own once he’s settled in. Avocado is deaf and experiences nystagmus, a neurological condition that causes his eyes to move rhythmically. This doesn’t stop him from getting around—he climbs with confidence, though he can be a little unsteady coming down from high spots. He’s not a good fit for homes with other cats, animals, or children, so he needs a calm, quiet home where he can be the center of attention. Because he's sometimes anxious, Avocado has been on Prozac to help him feel secure, and he may be more comfortable around women, though he could thrive with anyone patient and understanding. He can get quite chatty at night, something to keep in mind. Indoor life is required for this guy, and he’ll need someone ready to work with his special needs. Experience with deaf cats is a big plus, but the main things Avocado needs are consistency, patience, and a loving touch. He’s about 10 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, and fully litter box trained. Avocado eats only wet food, and his adoption comes with all his essentials—food, litter boxes, and meds. Click apply to start the adoption process.
