About Snoopy

Meet Snoopy! Snoopy is a young, sweet, and social dog who came to us after being found tied to a gate. Despite that difficult start, he has shown himself to be very people oriented. He really enjoys attention and companionship. Personality Snoopy is affectionate, playful, and full of curiosity about the world around him. He enjoys meeting new people and tends to warm up quickly, becoming more and more affectionate as he feels comfortable. Out and About Snoopy is energetic on leash and can pull moderately, especially when entering or exiting buildings. He does not show reactivity toward people or other dogs while walking, but he is very engaged with his environment and benefits from continued leash training to help him build consistency and manners. He is highly alert to everything happening around him, including movement, sounds, and activity in the environment. Even with all that stimulation, he remains socially appropriate and does not show negative reactions toward people or other dogs. During a dog interaction on 03/19/26, Snoopy greeted another dog at the gate with a neutral body and high tail, sniffed briefly, then disengaged and returned to his handler and sat. Social Behavior Snoopy is very social and enjoys being around people. In new environments he may be a bit distracted at first, often sniffing and taking in his surroundings, but he approaches handlers readily and seeks engagement. He accepts both soft and more active handling, though he may arch his back during contact as part of his excited response. He is affectionate and enjoys interaction, sometimes becoming very animated when he is engaged. Play and Enrichment Snoopy enjoys toys and play but can become tense and freeze when introduced to certain items, so he will benefit from gentle, positive exposure and guidance around play. He thrives with enrichment activities and enjoys interactive experiences like tug and exploring new environments. My Ideal Home Snoopy would do best in an active home that can provide daily physical exercise along with mental stimulation. He will benefit from continued leash training and structure to help him channel his enthusiasm in a positive way. He enjoys being involved in daily life and will thrive with adopters who appreciate an energetic and social companion. Living with Kids Snoopy would do best in a home without very young children due to his energy level. He may be open to older, respectful children once properly introduced. Fun Fact Snoopy is a social butterfly who loves being out in the world. On his borough break he enjoyed exploring parks, watching boats, playing tug, and soaking up attention from everyone he met. He is happiest when he is part of the action and close to his people. 🐾 My foster writes: Snoopy is the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything you do. He's incredibly smart, eager to please, social with dogs and children, and has a goofy, affectionate personality that still feels very puppy-like. He would thrive with an active person or family - especially a runner, hiker, outdoorsy person, or someone who works from home and wants a loyal companion beside them all day. Snoopy LOVES movement, stimulation, and being include A Volunteer Wrote: Volunteers and his lucky Boroughbreak buddy agree that this dog is SO MUCH FUN! He's the sweetest, most hilarious guy, who adores his toys (if you let him walk with one in his mouth he thinks he's the luckiest dog in the world), loves treats, and worships people who will show him any attention. He showed zero interest in the dogs around us in the park, and just wanted to hop up on a park bench and lean in for some love. Someone will get so lucky when they offer up their heart space to Snoopy! Primary Color: White Weight: 57lbs Age: 6yrs 2mths 3wks Animal has been Neutered
