Wrennie is a young Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix, currently in San Diego, CA, who is expected to reach about 50 pounds when fully grown. She had a tough start to life, having been found living with her mom and siblings in a foxhole without ever knowing human touch. During her early days at the sanctuary, she battled parvo and lost her brother, but she showed real resilience to pull through. Now in foster care, Wrennie is learning that people can mean safety and kindness. She’s still shy when first meeting new people, but patience and a gentle approach will reveal a sweet, playful pup who loves toys and really enjoys the company of other dogs. A confident, friendly resident dog is essential for Wrennie—she is much braver around canine companions and looks to them for guidance. She’ll need a quiet, steady home with people who understand rescue dogs and can help her progress at her own pace. House trained and pee pad trained, Wrennie is still new to leash walking and will benefit from a calm environment where she can learn without pressure. She isn't a cuddle bug just yet, but she is working on it, and lying on the couch with another dog is a highlight for her. A yard will help her flourish, giving her a safe space to build confidence. Wrennie gets along with dogs, cats, and children, but another friendly dog in the home is non-negotiable for her continued progress. Wrennie’s adoption fee is $550, covering her spay and up-to-date vaccinations.
