About Sonny

Sonny is a one-year-old black Lab mix with a short, shiny coat and a knack for putting people at ease. He weighs about 50 pounds and has already mastered house training, crate training, and walking on a leash. His favorite thing in the world is being close to his people—he’s the type to follow you from room to room and offer hugs freely. Sonny shines with kids, especially little ones, and spends as much time basking outdoors as he can. Sonny does well with other dogs, though he’s still learning the ropes with larger breeds. His confidence is a work in progress around big dogs, but he’s generally a respectful playmate. He has a puppyish tendency to chew, so he’ll need a crate that’s free of tempting leftovers and an adopter who can guide his energy. After he’s neutered at the end of October, you can expect some of his more persistent puppy behaviors to settle down. Sonny has not encountered cats yet, but he can be cat-tested upon request. He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and currently fostered in Knoxville, but can relocate if needed (transport fee may apply). If you’re after a loyal, affectionate companion who loves the outdoors and is eager to bond with your family, Sonny will fit right in. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
