Meet Athena! 🐾 If you've ever wished for a cat who combines the elegance of a goddess with the personality of your favorite coworker, Athena is ready to apply for the position. At 4 years old, Athena is a stunning fluffy lady with enormous paws, spectacular ear wisps, and enough future floof to make any long-hair cat enthusiast swoon. She was surrendered to a shelter in Houston alongside her sister, and the two appeared to be quite bonded. Sadly, her sister was adopted, leaving Athena behind. Now she's hoping her own happy ending is just around the corner. Athena is an incredibly sweet and affectionate cat who loves spending time with her people. She'll happily carry on conversations with you throughout the day, offering chirps, meows, and commentary on whatever you're doing. She enjoys snuggles and attention, but she's also wonderfully independent and perfectly content to relax nearby while you work or go about your day. Like many queens, Athena has a few preferences. She likely has a food allergy that causes some itchiness and hair loss, so she's currently thriving on an over-the-counter non-poultry diet. Aside from being a bit particular about her menu, she's an easygoing, low-maintenance companion. Athena gets along well with other cats and would do fine with older, respectful children who understand kitty boundaries. We don't know her history with dogs, so slow introductions would be recommended if there are canine family members in the home.
