About Oso

Oso is a 3.5-year-old neutered male black Lab/Pit mix who’s grown up to about 66-70 lbs. He’s based in a foster home around Fort Worth, but once you’ve adopted him, transport can be arranged to Lavon, TX. Calm, loving, and affectionate, Oso does well with male and female dogs—especially medium or large ones—though he hasn’t met any small breeds or cats yet. He’s house trained, crate trained, rides calmly in the car, and knows his basics on leash. Oso spent time in shelter through no fault of his own, ending up on the euthanasia list until a rescue intervened right in time. He came through heartworm treatment like a champ and is now heartworm negative and up to date on his shots. This is a dog who thrives on companionship—he could be your one and only or blend into a pack just fine. Apartment life isn’t the best fit; he really likes having a fenced yard, and he’ll love being part of family life whether that means a household with kids, a couple, or a single adopter who’ll include him. Sweet, easy-going, and often overlooked due to his black coat, Oso is eager for a home that finally sees him. He’s not dominant but is clever and inquisitive, always ready to learn and be part of the action. Ready to give him that family he deserves? What are you waiting for? Apply today!
