About Hugo
Hugo is a high-energy Alaskan Malamute with a real zest for action. He'll thrive with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and can help burn off his daily energy. When Hugo’s exercise needs are met, he’s a happy dog, but without it he tends to get frustrated. He’s happiest when included in adventures or outdoor activities and would love nothing more than to tag along on hikes or runs. At the shelter, Hugo has shown off some basic training—he knows how to sit, and food rewards are a great motivator for him. Walking on leash is still a work in progress; he’s strong and sometimes pulls, but he’s steadily improving every day. Hugo is especially social with people and enjoys playful games like keep-away. If snacks are involved, you’re sure to win his affection quickly. Hugo previously lived with other dogs and may get along well with new canine friends, but a meet-and-greet is a good idea before going home together. Because he has a curious husky streak, he should be supervised when outside to avoid any accidental escapes. Curious potential adopters are also encouraged to look into the breed before deciding to bring Hugo home—he’s fun-loving, active, and ready for the right person or family. Ready to fall in love?
