Rex was adopted from Los Angeles Animal Services - North Central Shelter back in 2014. His owner was recently arrested, so Rex ended up back at the shelter a MUCH older man. As soon as Rex arrived, our veterinarian examined him right away and learned that he has a very large abdominal mass. We also started treating his skin and ear infections. In the coming days, we are going to make some decisions about how proactive to be about that mass, or whether we should offer palliative care as we get to know him and make sure he's thriving. We are looking for an immediate foster placement, so Rex knows the comfort of a home after sleeping for weeks on a concrete floor at the shelter. Rex is great with dogs, cats, and kids.
