Merlot
AvailableMerlot is a young, red/chestnut/orange Rhodesian Ridgeback with a short coat, currently in Oroville, CA. She’s one year old, spayed, vaccinated, and house trained. Merlot has some special needs, as she is still learning to adapt to new environments and the basics of pet life.
About Merlot
Merlot spent her first year as a backyard dog, rarely leaving home or experiencing life beyond a small space. On May 9, 2026, she and her sister turned one, both stepping into a far bigger world when they arrived at Rincal. Merlot had no vet care or vaccinations before, and things like leashes and collars were total mysteries to her. She’s learning for the first time what it means to walk on a leash or trust new people. Unsurprisingly, she’s nervous about the outside world and her confidence is a work in progress. Around other dogs, Merlot starts out shy and unsure but gradually relaxes once she feels safe. There’s a gentle, sweet side that wants to connect—she just needs patience as she figures things out. Now spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, she finally has a foundation for a better life. Anyone interested in Merlot should be ready for a dog still figuring everything out. She’s worth the wait, and she’ll show her gratitude in her own quiet way. Ready to fall in love?
