You'd never know that not that long ago, he knew nothing about people. Matter of fact, he was pretty darn terrified of all of us. Born to an outdoor mother, he didn't have the opportunity early on to be loved and nurtured by people. I guess his mama wanted better for him and presented the kind soul who was feeding her with her kittens to care for. Things have changed for the better. The endearing hisses and hysterical airplane ears are pretty much a thing of the past. While new things are still scary and a fast approach is not appreciated, our little ginger boy has been treating us to head boops, marathon purring sessions and actually sees us with different, more trusting eyes. Did I mention he also smiles? Now if you need a kitten who will climb into your lap to cuddle - day one - this sweet baby might not be for you. On the other hand, if you're the kind who understands that trust might take a minute...if you hold your breath and maybe tear up a little the first time he lets you cradle him in your arms...come meet Chester! Bring a churu (he loves them) but don't be surprised if he continues to lick your fingers, long after the churu is gone. The Rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets!
