Found as a stray in Clearwater, Blissy spent the last month and a half learning what safety and love feels like in foster care. At 45lbs and estimated to be about 1.5 years old, Blissy needs an experienced, dog-savvy home without children - ideally someone calm, introverted, and patient enough to let trust develop at her pace. She's the kind of dog who may never love the whole world, but she *will* love her person with her entire heart. Blissy is not a "take everywhere" dog, and she doesn't want to be. Her perfect day is a quiet walk, a few scent games or treat "Easter egg hunts," then curling up on the couch or bed beside (or on top of) her favorite human. She doesn't need endless toys or chaos to be happy - just her stuffed duck, an elk antler, and someone she can show off her happy "tippy taps" too when you get home. She needs **very slow introductions** to new people and animals, as strangers and unfamiliar dogs can overwhelm her quickly. Because of this, she would thrive in a calm, child-free home with a fenced yard and someone experienced with dog behavior and boundaries. She has been muzzle trained for vet visits and introductions, is crate trained, and does best with structure and routine. Blissy currently lives successfully with two cats and one female dog friend, though she has a high prey drive and should always have slow, careful introductions with supervision. She would likely do best as an only dog or with a calm medium-to-large companion. She also has food guarding tendencies and should be fed separately from other animals. Inside the home, Blissy is generally calm and relaxed, though she does enjoy roughhousing with her 50-60lb dog friend when she's feeling playful. She can stay home during the day without separation anxiety - but if you forget to fully latch the gate, don't be surprised if she quietly lets herself out just to wait for you to come home.
