About Santino
Santino arrived nervous and wary, a thin, mid-sized dog not used to the world’s kindness. He’s still learning to trust but has steadily grown more comfortable thanks to patient volunteers. Santino now approaches the leash with little fuss and, while toys don’t catch his interest, treats absolutely do—he’ll scour the entire yard like it holds hidden treasures. Chest scratches are also high on his list. Those who’ve spent time with him say he’s good-hearted, sweet, and affectionate beneath the shyness. Santino is best suited for someone who appreciates working with timid dogs and will let him open up at his own pace. Ready to meet a gentle soul who just needs the right human to flourish? They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
