Barris is a 4-year-old small Cairn Terrier mix who’s come a long way from her difficult start in life. Once reserved and shut down from her background as a breeding dog, she’s now lively, curious, and bursting with energy. Barris is smart, quick to learn, and thrives on routine and structure. She’s playful and loves to race around the yard or play with other dogs, though she’s just starting to discover the fun of toys and games. If it’s within reach, she’ll grab it, whether it’s a toy, shoe, or even your coffee—her curious streak keeps you on your toes. Affection comes in tail wags and the occasional kiss as she’s still figuring out how to trust, but she’s making steady progress. Barris is crate trained, nearly fully house trained, and walks well on a leash. Her ideal home includes a secure, fenced yard because she’s an impressive jumper and an escape artist at heart. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion, but she doesn’t do well with cats. While she’s best with adults and older, respectful kids, fast or unpredictable movements from younger children make her uneasy.
