About Nina

To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Nina is a sweet 3 year old spayed female cat, up to date on her vaccines. Here’s what her foster volunteer says about her: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Nina is very caring and generally a laid back cat. She enjoys being close to her preferred human and spends most of her time in and out of naps. Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes. If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? She likes to be pet especially when she is asking for attention-- she loves to be stroked from head to tail (and she will let you know by purring a lot!) She loved a classic head scratch at any time. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? Not that I can tell-- she has never reacted negatively to receiving pets. Does the cat come on your lap? Sometimes. She'll take her time making her way there but once there she's happy. Does the cat like to be held? Very much! She enjoys being perched up on a shoulder while being pet and admiring the view from high up. Does the cat sleep in your bed? Yes! Does the cat seek your attention? Yes-- especially in my morning she will nudge her head into yours asking for pets. Does the cat like to play? Sometimes-- she is definitely interested in string or yarn. I would not say she is especially enthused by traditional cat toys. What are the cat's favorite games and toys? Mostly playing with string. How vocal is the cat? Yes! What kinds of sounds does the cat make? She mostly meows (it's the cutest thing). Does the cat scratch a scratcher? No. If no, please explain. She does not seem interested. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes. If no, please explain. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? She is eating a mix of wet and dry food twice a day, with the occasional Churu treat on a lick mat. Is the cat picky about food? No. What is the cat's favorite treat? She is not super food motivated. What medication is the cat on, and how is it administered? N/A Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Definitely shy, perhaps fearful but curious at the same time-- she's very brave. If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? N/A Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? Yes! She squeaks back and squeaky toys! And she will only accept treats if they are placed on the ground in front of her (not out of your hand). In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? Nina is incredibly trusting and is ready to give you all the love and affection she has to offer. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? It seems like she might have some mild seasonal allergies but as long as I keep the windows closed her sneezing is kept at bay.
