I’m Beans. Shelter Favorite. Professional Cuddle Bug. Tiny Cat. Huge Personality. Before I was Beans, my name was Gene. I was sitting on the euthanasia list at a rural shelter in Southern Illinois, waiting and hoping someone would notice me in time. The shelter staff absolutely adored me, and honestly? Once you meet me, it’s pretty easy to understand why. The rescue knew they couldn’t leave me behind. Now I’m safe, spoiled, and ready to become somebody’s best friend. And when I say best friend, I mean it. I am the MOST talkative boy. I chirp, meow, follow you around, answer your conversations, and make sure you know exactly how I’m feeling at all times. Silence? Never heard of her. I want to be involved in everything you’re doing. Laundry? I’m there. Cooking dinner? Supervising. Working on your laptop? Perfect time for me to sit directly next to you and offer emotional support. Honestly, I’m basically a puppy in a cat’s body. I love other cats and always want someone to play with. I’m also great with dogs and love following them around like they’re my big siblings. I’ve never hissed, swatted, or “bopped” anyone. That’s just not my personality. I’m sweet. Gentle. Ridiculously cuddly. The kind of cat who melts into you when you pick him up. The kind of cat who greets you at the door. The kind of cat who turns into the heart of the home without even trying.
