I’m Silas. I Was a Last-Day Dog. Now I’m Ready to Be Somebody’s Everything. I’m 2 years old, medium-sized, with a brown-and-white coat and a heart that somehow stayed soft through all of it. I’m a Pit Bull Terrier who almost didn’t make it out of Calumet City alive. I was on borrowed time. Until someone said yes to me. And honestly? I’ve been making up for lost time ever since. I love people immediately. Kids, adults, strangers walking through the door — I greet everyone like we’ve already been friends for years. I’m the kind of dog who leans into you for affection, follows you around the house, and just wants to be included in whatever life is happening around me. I’m house trained, dog friendly, and easy to live with. I don’t come in trying to take over the house or create chaos. I settle in. I fit in. I make myself part of the family like I was always supposed to be there. I’ve got a playful side, but I’m not nonstop energy. I’m more of a “hang out with my people and enjoy life together” kind of guy. Walks, couch time, backyard time, errands — I’m just happy to be there with you. I’m not neutered yet, but I will be soon. I’m already up to date on all my vaccines and fully ready for my next chapter. What I want most isn’t complicated. A home that keeps me. A person who means it when they say forever. A place where I never have to wonder if I’m losing everything again. Because I already came close once. Now I’m ready for the part where life finally gets good. I’m Silas.
