Meet Skyy Hi... my name is Skyy. I'm still very young — probably not even a year old yet — but I've already lived through a lot of scary things in my short life. Sometimes I try to tell humans I'm afraid by hiding, acting shy, or even giving a little hiss. I promise I'm not mean... I just never learned another way to say, “Please be gentle with me.” When I first came into rescue, I was pregnant, terrified, and curled up in the corner convinced the world wasn't safe. Since then, I've come such a long way. I may still be shy, but I'm learning that love can be soft and safe. I don't quite seek out affection yet, but when I trust someone, I truly enjoy being loved on. I let my foster mom kiss my forehead, and one of my favorite things in the whole world is being brushed with a soft brush. Those quiet little moments make me feel safe. Right now, I'm still busy being a mama to my babies for a few more weeks. My kittens will be ready for adoption the week of June 15th, and while I'm so proud of them, I know I'm going to miss them terribly. Everyone says mama cats are always the last to get chosen... the ones who wait the longest for someone to finally see them. But my foster mom says she's determined to help me find my forever family too. She's accepting applications for me early so my perfect home can be ready when I am. What I really need is a calm, quiet home with patient people who will let me move at my own pace. Someone who understands that trust takes time — but also understands how rewarding it is when a scared soul finally feels safe enough to bloom. My foster mom believes that with love, patience, and time, I may someday become a total lap baby. I'm already showing pieces of that girl to the people I trust most.
