Meet Melly! Our 16 pound, female, Chihuahua. Melly is a sweet little chihuahua with a tender heart, one who takes a moment to size up new people, but warms beautifully once she feels safe. At first, she may be a bit cautious, watching the world with those bright, thoughtful eyes, but her gentle nature shines through quickly. Once she trusts you, Melly becomes the lapdog she was born to be. She loves settling into your arms, curling up on your legs, and soaking in every bit of affection. Melly would do amazingly with other dogs in the home. Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Saturday and Sundays have walk-in hours from noon to 4 PM. ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second Chance SPCA, please come during open hours. Adopters will visit with an adoption counselor and complete a short application. Adopters must live within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and be at least 21 years old. Renters must provide proof of pet deposit and/or written permission by landlord to have a pet. ADOPTION FEES: Includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, fecal, and heartworm test (dogs) or FeLV/FIV test (cats). All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $275 for puppies under 6 months of age and $225 for dogs older than 6 months. $175 for kittens under 6 months of age and $150 for cats older than 6 months.
