About Lanie
Meet Lanie, an endlessly cheerful two-year-old pit bull whose happiness never wavers. After her owner’s arrest, Lanie spent two months waiting at the Bakersfield shelter, always greeting staff and strangers alike with tail wags and persistent, hopeful smiles. Even in tough circumstances, her joy held firm—this is the kind of spirit no one can teach or fake. From the start, Lanie’s wiggle and eager face have been impossible to resist. She treats every new meeting like a reunion, and before you know it she’s in your lap, giving hugs as if you’ve known each other for ages. Her affection makes people feel seen and special, every single time. Lanie gets along well with other dogs and seems comfortable around people of all ages, including children. Her gentle, loving nature suggests she’d likely fit right into a home with cats as well. There’s truly not a mean bone in her body—just honest, exuberant friendliness. Whoever brings her home will gain a loyal companion who finds joy everywhere and shares it freely. Fun fact: Lanie is an Aries, which likely explains her bold, warm approach to life.
