About Alejandra
Alejandra is one tough and joyful young dog. She came to a shelter in Birmingham with a dislocated and broken hip, her history unclear, but her spirit was impossible to miss. Even as she limped and faced pain, Ale radiated sunshine. After plenty of healing time and a careful decision, her left rear leg was amputated in April. If you watch her videos, you'll see Alejandra zipping around the shelter yard, outpacing most and soaking up the playtime. She needs to drop a few pounds after her post-surgery rest, but nothing slows her down for long. Alejandra's Alabama foster mom has cared for a hundred fosters but calls Ale one of the nicest and easiest she's ever had—attentive, affectionate, polite, and truly easy to manage. She gets along easily with other dogs and thrives in a social environment. Now fully healed and enjoying a pain-free life, Alejandra is ready for her forever home in Wheeling, IL and has everything it takes to brighten any household. Her adoption fee is $300. She is spayed, up to date on her core vaccines, and Heartworm negative. Fun fact: Alejandra is an Aquarius, famous for their playful and lively nature. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
