About Wattson

Are you a fan of the 1980s classic feature film, Gremlins? If your answer is yes, we have the dog for you. But unlike Gremlins, you can both get Wattson wet AND feed him after midnight! In fact, he would like it if meal time was any time. (Except for chicken, because he's allergic.) Like his naughty cinematic counterparts, Wattson is still learning his manners. Taken from his mama and siblings too early, he has some work to do on when and how to use his sharp puppy teeth, but is making steady progress every day in his foster home. His toddler tantrums can be redirected and both training and enrichment focus him away from his shark attacks. (That said, we do recommend no children, or only teenagers and up.) Perhaps you are more the farming type and would like a dog who grunts like a piglet. Wattson's got that too! And his smooth piglet belly is perfect for endless rubs and snuggles, both of which he approves of heartily. He loves to go everywhere with you, and is adored at the local coffee shop where his foster mom has been taking him since day one. He's a social butterfly and loves meeting new people and dogs, and is happiest being held in your arms as his fans dote on him. If they are talented at the belly rubs, he will offer up kisses too, and not to brag, but he's an excellent kisser. After all of that social time, he loves a good nap. When he is sleeping, he sounds like a guy in his 50s whose wife keeps telling him he needs a CPAP machine and he keeps ignoring her because he “doesn't snore!” But when Wattson does it, somehow, it's adorable and not annoying. His foster dad, who absolutely definitely does not snore either, has named him Snugget, because he's a snuggly nugget, and he'd love it if you wanted to nap too. A quick study when treats are involved, he's mastered sitting, spinning, touching, and is working on leave it, but because he's so low already, thinks “lie down” is a waste of his time. And he is learning that toileting happens outside, except for sometimes when it happens inside, just because he's still a baby and it's hard to make it all the way out there. He requests a home that is willing to keep putting in the training, which will be key as he gets bigger and continues to learn his manners. He also requires a steady supply of devotion, and adopters must be prepared to comment on his excellent ears and to say “Oh My Goodness! He's so cute, I can't stand it!!” at least several times per day.
