About Lucy
Lucy is a tiny, 1-year-old Miniature Dachshund with a classic attitude: she expects to be the star of the show and doesn’t mind letting you know! Weighing just 10 lbs, she’s small but mighty—playful, alert, and full of personality. Lucy loves attention, belly rubs, and time lounging on the couch, but she really lights up when it’s time for a stroll. She’s happiest in a single-family home (apartments aren’t her style—she likes to vocalize and needs space to be herself). She’s dog-social but does best as the only dog or with a calm, larger companion. She hasn’t met cats, and due to her inexperience with young kids, she’ll thrive in a home with children 12 and up. Lucy is house trained and crate friendly, though she needs a consistent routine, especially at the start. Dachshund-experienced homes get bonus points—Lucy can be headstrong, but she’ll quickly settle in when given guidance. Give her structure, exercise, and affection, and you’ll have a loyal, funny companion by your side. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
