Abram
AvailableAbram is a young, male Siamese with a flame point coat and short fur. He is neutered, house trained, and currently lives in Portland, OR. Abram has special needs including being nearly blind, partially deaf, and managing possible epilepsy. He is about 1 year and 6 months old and has lived well with cats and dogs in the past.
About Abram
Abram greets everyone with undeniable warmth. Born almost completely blind—he sees only hints of light and shadow—he’s figured out his surroundings with confidence, using gentle headbutts to explore anything or anyone friendly enough to offer a pet. Loud noises and sudden movement don’t faze him much; his hearing is limited, too. Abram’s special needs include a likely diagnosis of epilepsy, with occasional seizures managed by medication and, possibly, regular blood tests in the future. When he first arrived, his digestion was touchy—he’s on a special food for now, but may not need it forever. He previously lived alongside cats and a dog and did well after a slow introduction. At the shelter, Abram has his own space to help him acclimate. Pickups aren’t his favorite—being lifted throws off his sense of the room—but snuggling up and demanding affection with a meow is his specialty. Despite his vision and hearing challenges, Abram does nearly everything a typical cat can and keeps his manners in check, as he’s house trained. One funny quirk: his estimated birthday makes him a Scorpio, which might explain his boldness. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
