About Dolly
Dolly has truly adapted to the comforts of indoor life, especially after her earlier days surviving outside. Now she’s usually found atop whatever perch strikes her fancy—maybe the back of a chair, sometimes nestled in a flowerpot, or discovering new perspectives from unexpected places. Laundry time becomes an adventure with Dolly nearby, as she seems to believe every loose sock belongs in her personal stash. As a Beagle/Heeler mix, Dolly is curious, bright, and beginning to trust her new routine. She enjoys soft places to nap, chasing interesting smells, and the occasional beagle howl to share her thoughts. Getting used to walks and novel experiences is still a work in progress, so she’ll thrive with someone patient who respects her pace. Once she feels secure, her goofy, loving side shines—she’s affectionate, expressive, and likes being at the center of her people’s world. If you’re nearby Austin, TX or anywhere in Texas and want a rescue dog with personality and heart, Dolly is ready for the next chapter. Questions about Dolly
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Dolly's Beagle/Heeler background means she tends to thrive in homes where she gets attention and has things to explore. She’ll do best with some room to roam indoors, and ideally a yard, but is adaptable to different setups if her needs are met.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
As a Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog mix, Dolly appreciates having outdoor space to sniff and play. A fenced yard is great for her natural curiosity, but regular walks and playtime can also meet her exercise needs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Beagle/Heeler mixes like Dolly are often good with children, especially when socialized and given patience as they adjust. Active homes with gentle kids can be a good fit, provided everyone understands her needs.
