About Reed
Reed is an 8-week-old gray-and-white kitten with short fur, piercing green eyes, and a white nose that sets off his expressive little face. Weighing just 1.5 pounds, Reed arrived to foster care at only 3 weeks old — small, battling a respiratory infection, and freshly heartbroken from the loss of his brother. He’s bounced back, showing a remarkable amount of affection and trust for such a young cat. When his people come into the room, his purr engine kicks in and he’s instantly seeking cuddles and close contact. Reed adores draping himself on someone’s chest, pawing gently at faces, or just curling up and staring with his big-eyed gaze until sleep takes over. His need for attention and affection is matched only by his goofball side: he bolts through tunnels, chases toys, and can turn almost anything into a game. Social to the core, Reed does still need to work on cat manners with the help of another animal. After losing his brother, he grew up around people, and sometimes he gets too mouthy with hands during play. For this reason, Reed needs to go to a home with another playful cat, kitten, or cat-friendly dog, so he can keep learning how to be gentle. Medical-wise, he had early constipation but is thriving on a fiber-rich diet and just needs some ongoing monitoring as he grows — he’s still a small guy for his age. Reed is affectionate, silly, and packs a lot of life into his little frame. With a birthday of April 3, Reed is an Aries — bold, spirited, and always in the middle of the action.
