Tommy
AvailableTommy is a medium-sized male Domestic Short Hair who’s estimated to be about 5 years old and lives in New York, NY. He’s neutered, vaccinated, house trained, and currently fully indoors due to his FIV-positive status. Though he’s toothless and has a sensitive jaw, he manages just fine on wet food and enjoys a comfy home life after his tough beginnings.
About Tommy
Tommy used to be a scrappy tomcat in the Bronx, but he’s settling into the good life after being found emaciated and frostbitten in a cemetery during winter. He bounced through vet clinics and foster homes, earning a growing list of nicknames—Tommy Pickles, TomTom, T-Money, and a few more—while he recovered. These days he trails people from room to room, always up for affection, and will nudge you for scritches. If he’s had enough, he’ll give you a warning hiss or a harmless, clawless swat before moving on. Tommy has no teeth left after his recent dental, so he happily gobbles wet food and can even sneak a bit of bacon, egg, and cheese if he catches you off guard. FIV positive from his days outside, Tommy now needs an indoor life. Luckily, with no teeth, the risk of passing it on is almost nothing. He’d do best in a quiet, cat-savvy home with no small kids and no dogs. He tolerates chill cats as long as introductions are done slowly, but mostly wants a peaceful place to nap and hang out around his people. Independent but social, he likes to be nearby but appreciates space and boundaries. He’s neutered, microchipped, FeLV negative, and all his vaccines and deworming are current. He’s on a monthly Solensia injection to help manage some pain from past frostbite and joint issues, so adopters will need to stay on top of his comfort with their vet. Tommy’s looking for a foster or an adopter ready to give him steady comfort after a hard start. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
