#Rex For a little while there, Rex just wasn’t feeling good. He was tired, shut down, and honestly… he looked like he had simply given up. But we listened to him. We figured out what he needed. And slowly but surely, our big lovable guy started feeling better Now? Rex wants attention. He wants to be near you. He wants love — something we truly don’t think he ever had before. Rex and another dog lived in absolutely horrible conditions before coming to us. They never got to just be dogs. They never got to enjoy running outside, relaxing in a yard, or even living in a clean environment. The house they lived in was their bathroom. It was heartbreaking. No dog should ever have to endure that kind of life. Rex is 10 years old. An older gentleman who should be spending his days relaxing on a porch, soaking up sunshine, and being spoiled rotten… not sitting in a shelter trying to figure out why his whole world changed. So when people meet Rex, we need them to understand something… This boy needs grace. He needs patience. He needs time to decompress. He needs someone willing to let him figure things out at his own pace. Bouncing dogs like Rex around after a couple days or a week is simply not fair to them. Dogs that have lived through trauma need consistency. They need understanding. They need someone willing to say, “I’m going to give you the time you deserve.” And Rex? He is worth that time. Because once he starts opening up, you see it — this big personality hiding underneath everything he’s been through. He loves being with people. He loves soaking up attention. He just wants to feel safe and loved. If you are a responsible Rottweiler owner and understand the breed, please consider fostering or even adopting our big boy Rex. He deserves someone willing to see past the shelter walls and understand that healing takes time. And please give him some grace. He’s trying. He’s learning. He’s finally getting to experience things he never had before. He’s our big 80 lb lovable Rottie guy, and we would truly love to see him finally get the second chance he has always deserved.
