About Banks
Banks started out terrified, too thin, and struggling to trust, but sheās made huge strides since coming into care. She spent some time living on the street, hesitant to approach peopleāeven those trying to help. A local bank fed her for weeks before she was finally brought in and straight to the vet. Banks arrived weighing just 40 pounds, heartworm positive, and infested with fleas, but gentle care and steady vet work have already helped her start to recover. Even at her most underweight, she showed her picky side, only eating what she truly liked. This Great Pyrenees is quietly devoted, gentle, and deeply affectionate to the people she trusts. Banks gets along with other rescue dogs in her foster home and is safe with children, but she would flourish as someoneās main companion. She especially loves walksātheyāve become her favorite ritual, complete with an adorable little skip and her best pal Jack by her side. Sheās never short on hugs, loves gazing up at her people, and canāt resist a good brush session. Though entering homes and buildings still makes her nervous, sheās learning each day that sheās safe, and will settle quietly on her bed after the initial uncertainty passes.
