About Charlie

Charlie is a cheerful, 1-year-old Spaniel/Pomeranian mix with a bubbly personality and a grin that rarely leaves his face. He's on the smaller side at just over a year old, already housebroken, and crate trained. Sunbathing and lounging in odd positions top his list of hobbies, and he is never far from his foster people—especially if belly rubs are on offer. Charlie sleeps wherever you are, whether that's on your bed or curled up nearby, and his snuggling credentials are solid. He gets along well with other dogs but is happiest just bonding one-on-one with his person. Charlie thrives with a fenced yard (minimum four feet; he can jump a 3.5-foot fence with ease), and he bolts through open doors, so he still needs work on the "WAIT" command. He's playful, enjoys chasing balls outdoors, and is gentle when taking treats. He gets spooked by children and needs an adult-only home where someone is around most of the time. Previous dog experience is important for his adopter, and while he enjoys canine company, it isn't required for him to thrive. Basic training is ongoing, but he’s food motivated and eager to learn. Charlie's vaccinations are up to date, he is neutered, and all vet care has been handled. Fun fact: Born April 1, Charlie is an Aries—no surprise considering his spunky, adventurous energy. He is fostered in Lake Geneva, WI. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
