Weighing just 12 pounds and estimated to be between 1–2 years old, Pooka was found running the streets alone in deep South Texas and ended up at the Weslaco shelter with no collar, no tags, unspayed, and sadly, no one came looking for her. Despite her past, she has remained incredibly sweet and loving. She has a gentle, ladylike personality with just the right touch of prissy charm that makes her even more endearing. She loves people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and would make an amazing addition to nearly any family. Pooka is ready to leave her past behind and find the loving home she truly deserves. Pooka tested positive for Chagas disease and has started treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives.
