This gorgeous long-haired guy has been through a lot, but he hasn't let life's bumps dim his incredibly sweet nature. ​ ​Mario arrived in our care with a severe leg wound that required a lot of time, patience, and medical attention. We are thrilled to report that he is finally, fully healed and officially cleared to find his forever kingdom! He took his recovery like an absolute champ, sweet-talking the staff through every vet check. ​ ​Mario is the epitome of a gentle giant. He is a total softie who lives for affection. His absolute favorite things in the world are head scratches and chin rubs (he will lean right into your hand). He also loves grooming sessions! Because of his luxurious long fur, he needs regular brushing, and luckily, he considers brush-time to be the ultimate spa experience. ​ ​Mario has two specific requests for his future home: ​A Feline Friend: Mario is a true social butterfly and needs a friendly cat companion in his new home. He loves having a buddy to lounge with and lean on. ​FIV+ Status: Mario is FIV positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Don't let that scare you! FIV+ cats can live long, healthy, completely normal lives. Because it is only transmitted through deep, vicious bite wounds, Mario can safely live with other FIV+ cats or friendly, non-aggressive FIV-negative cats. ​Mario spent time healing his body, and now he’s ready to fill your home with love, purrs, and a whole lot of fluff.
