About Tucker

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transfer from Fresca Fund in Fort Worth, Texas - Mostly potty trained - Working on crate training - vocal about his opinions on being left alone! If you need to confine Tucker, he's done better in a puppy pen and has not tried to jump out of it. From the foster: Meet Tucker - the shy, gentle boy who's learning the world may not be so scary after all. Tucker is an absolute love bug at heart. More than anything, he wants to be close to his people, soaking up affection and quietly staying by your side. He also adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion who can help guide him and show him that life is safe, fun, and full of love. Tucker is the kind of puppy who needs a little extra time and patience when adjusting to new surroundings. He can be unsure of unfamiliar situations and tends to find comfort and confidence through the people and dogs he trusts most. Once he feels safe, though, his sweet and loving personality begins to shine through more each day. Like any puppy, Tucker has his silly moments. He absolutely loves toys and bones and is currently learning that sharing can be a good thing. He has never shown aggression-he simply believes every toy should belong to him at the same time because choosing a favorite is just too difficult. Tucker is still learning all the basics of puppy life and is making wonderful progress. He has done incredibly well with potty training and has not had accidents in the house. While he is still learning how to signal when he needs to go outside, keeping him on a routine has worked beautifully, and he already sleeps through the night without accidents. Crates and confined spaces are not Tucker's favorite thing, and he isn't shy about expressing his opinion on that. Given the choice, he would much rather curl up beside his person in bed, where he happily sleeps through the night feeling safe and secure. As a growing puppy, Tucker is also learning what is appropriate to chew on and what isn't. He responds very well to redirection and is eager to please. He's still figuring out that while people may seem chewable, they don't always appreciate puppy teeth quite as much as he does. Tucker's dream home would be one filled with patience, understanding, and love. A home with a backyard where he can safely explore and where an occasional bark won't be an issue would be ideal. He would especially love someone who is home often and able to help continue building his confidence. Most importantly, Tucker simply needs someone willing to show him that the world can be kind, comforting, and full of adventure. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will form a deep bond and blossom beautifully with time, Tucker may just be your perfect match www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
