About Athena
Athena is a 2-year-old Dogo Argentino with a bright personality and a lot of heart. She recently enjoyed a field trip and won people over with her gentle manners, affectionate nature, and her obvious joy at being part of the action. Car rides and exploring trails are right up her alley, and she perked up with excitement when kids passed by. Athena thrives on attention and interaction—she’s always eager to be included. She responds well to treats, which makes her a fast learner and a good prospect for ongoing training. While Athena was adopted once, she returned to the shelter because she didn't get along with the resident dog. Because of this, she’ll do best as the only pet in the home. Physically, Athena is recovering from a healed fracture in her right front leg, leaving mild swelling that doesn’t slow her down. She’s still active and playful, but would benefit from gentle adventures and follow-up care with a vet as she continues to heal. If you want a companion for hiking, car rides, and plenty of affection, Athena’s ready to take on the world by your side—cuddle sessions included. Start your journey together! Apply now.
