Hello! Im Earnie! I was the smallest of my litter and initially was very shy with my foster family. My siblings were competitive with food so I’m still a bit protective of my food and growl while I eat. I’m a bit nervous in the presence of a human, and with loud noises, but it doesn’t mean I don’t want to cuddle. Here are some tips to bring out my softie side: I probably will hide for a little while, but if you’re patient with me, I will relax and be ready to socialize after a few minutes. Tasty food really helps me relax, so giving me treats or wet food off your fingers when you want to interact is a good way to initiate contact. I appreciate having some time to warm up on my own so please approach me gently, let me smell your fingers and stroke me lightly before you pick me up. Once I’m in your arms or lap, be prepared for me to relax and fall asleep– I love to cuddle and can nap for a very long time, even if it’s noisy like it is in my kitten room!
