About Mikey

Meet Milo and Mikey—the definition of a perfect little bonded pair. These two landed in foster after their person passed, and though the beginning was rough, their spark returned fast. Mikey is an 8 lb Chiweenie, deeply bonded to his buddy Milo the dapple Dachshund, and both are thriving in a foster home packed with four other dogs. Mikey’s sweet, snuggly, and playful, but needs a minute to warm up if strangers try to pick him up; once he trusts you, he’s all affection. Both are fantastic with other dogs and love crate time at night—but they’re happiest during the day shadowing their people. Because of Mikey’s tiny size, they aren’t a match for homes with young children. Mikey and Milo need someone home most of the day, ideally with Dachshund experience and an understanding of protecting long backs—think supportive strategies and ramps for furniture. They spend hours basking in the sun and adore being involved in family life. Whether as the only spoiled duo or joining up with other friendly dogs, these boys will make their new family’s days brighter. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
