About Raisin

Meet Raisin! Raisin is a striking black cat with a gentle spirit and a knack for making anyone feel welcome. He came in as a stray in Chicago, but it’s clear he hasn’t let that hard start dull his warmth or his trust in people. Raisin greets visitors with those slow head bumps and quick, happy purrs, always curious and always eager to connect. He soaks up attention, prefers his naps plush and sunny, and finds his way by your side at every chance. He’ll curl up in a favorite spot or follow you around, always quietly tuned in and offering quiet company. Raisin is neutered, up to date on his FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, and has tested FeLV negative. He is FIV positive, which simply means some extra care and watchfulness—a gentle reminder that his immune system could use a little help to stay healthy. FIV cats can live long and happy lives; just be mindful of secondary infections. If you have questions about FIV, our Heartland team can talk you through the details. You’ll find Raisin relaxing at our Heartland facility in Wheeling, IL. We’re open four days a week if you want to stop by and meet him—no appointment necessary. Your new best friend is just one click away.
