Lionfish started out as a "tough" street cat in a Long Island City colony, complete with the clipped ear from his TNR days. But the second he got indoors, he was like, “Oh thank god, a couch.” Within days, he turned into the sweetest, funniest little guy. He’s incredibly social and always wants to know what you’re up to. Cooking dinner? He’s supervising. Walking from one room to another? He’s right behind you. Sitting down for five seconds? Perfect, now he can rub against your legs and demand attention. He’s a huge flirt and has perfected the Puss in Boots wide eyed look-up-at-you move that makes you feel like the most important person in the world. When he’s in play mode, he goes all in — chasing toys until he completely wipes himself out and falls asleep like a little kid who skipped their nap. At night, he likes to curl up nearby and keep you company. He really just wants to be around people. Lionfish would do great in lots of different homes, whether that’s a busy household or one with another friendly pet. He still has some goofy kitten energy as he settles into indoor life, but is already proving he was always meant to be somebody’s spoiled house cat.
