About Phoenix
Meet Phoenix — or “Feeny” to those who know him best. He’s a four-year-old shepherd mix, fully vetted and housebroken, with equal doses of smarts, goofiness, and devotion. Phoenix shadows his favorite people from room to room, always wanting to be in the thick of the action — and, more often than not, gently policing your snack choices. Phoenix thrives in bustling homes and soaks up every ounce of human interaction. He’s happiest when life is busy, people are near, and he can be part of the daily routine. He gets along with other dogs, livestock, chickens, ducks, and even the resident goat, Lt. Dan. Playful and social, Phoenix fits best with canine pals who love a little mischief and a tumble here and there, since he sometimes eggs on those less interested in spirited play. This guy already knows his basic commands, and he’s eager to please. Phoenix surprised his foster family by revealing he actually can bark — he was just holding back until the time felt right. His early days were rough, as you might notice from some lingering hair loss, but his coat is growing in strong, and what’s there is already doing a number on the furniture, true to shepherd reputation. Phoenix wants a home with structure, people who get the shepherd sense of humor, playful dog friends, and the occasional good vacuum session. He’s loyal, endlessly affectionate, and, above all, makes an excellent companion or shadow. If you’re after a best friend bursting with personality, Phoenix could be your match. Fun fact: with a July 30th birthday, Phoenix is a Leo — this lines up perfectly with his big personality. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
