Meet Phoenix — or “Feeny” if you ask his foster family. This handsome shepherd mix is 4 years old, fully vetted, housebroken, and equal parts smart, goofy, and lovable. He’s the kind of dog who follows you from room to room just to be part of the action… and occasionally to supervise your snack choices. Phoenix is incredibly affectionate and thrives in a busy home where there’s always something going on. He loves people, enjoys being involved in daily life, and has done wonderfully with other dogs, livestock, chickens, ducks, and even Lt. Dan the goat. He’s playful and social, though he does have a habit of pushing the buttons of grumpier dogs — so canine friends who enjoy a little chaos and wrestling match energy would be ideal. He knows basic commands, listens well, and is very eager to please. We originally thought he never barked… but apparently he was just saving his opinions for later. Phoenix came from a rough situation and still has some lingering hair loss from his past, but his coat has been growing back beautifully. In true shepherd fashion, the hair he does have is now decorating absolutely everything.
