About Tyler
Tyler is a 96-pound goofy, playful guy who has made impressive strides in foster care after beginning his journey with limited socialization. Initially, he was quite fearful and spent his first eight weeks primarily in his room, but routine and patience have helped him come out of his shell. Now, he revels in toys, Kongs, and treats, enjoys running and playing outside, loves chase games, and has a blast wrestling with his foster dog sibling. He takes direction well and shows no signs of resource guarding or food aggression, happily sharing everything from toys to treats. Tyler is potty trained, non-destructive, and sleeps peacefully through the night in his safe space. He appreciates having an area of his own where he can unwind. Although he's a gentle giant, he can be a bit mouthy when seeking attention or excitedly greets you when you return home. Building his confidence is still a work in progress, and he requires a patient, structured environment that understands it may take him a few weeks to show his true self. He tends to be skittish around unfamiliar people and prefers to approach them on his own terms, particularly wary of having a harness put on. A predictable routine, a fenced yard, and ample opportunities for outdoor play would align perfectly with his needs. Having another friendly dog could also be beneficial since Tyler enjoys canine companionship and learns from them. His future family must be ready to provide the time and space he needs to trust. In return, they will discover the sweet, curious, playful giant puppy that his foster family knows and adores.
