Leo is a small, cream-colored Terrier mix who doesn’t hand out trust to just anyone. No one knows his full story; his history is foggy. What’s clear is that he hasn’t had the most reliable people in his life—a family left him at a shelter and never came back. Since then, Leo’s foster mom has been gently coaxing him out of his shell, and bit by bit, he’s learning there are people worth loving. Meeting strangers makes Leo uneasy. He’s wary at first, but when someone takes the time to move at his pace, he starts to show his gentle heart. Leo genuinely enjoys the company of other dogs and is unbothered by cats. He’d do well in a home with another dog to help him build confidence. Kids could be okay—as long as they’re old enough to respect Leo’s need for calm and patience. Leo is quiet, so apartments or places with shared walls could suit him. He’d also love a yard to call his own and daily walks to keep him engaged.
