Melody is an expressive girl who was searching for a way to describe herself to a potential family. One night, we saw a little light on in her kennel way past bedtime and heard sounds of scribbling. The next morning, we found the following poem tucked underneath her pillow: Me. By: Melody I wish my life was full of song as would my name suggest Instead it's quiet, still and hushed without a family blessed. My first home was no fairytale, my father gone, arrested Leaving me in dire straits, outside and flea infested. I waited, head between my paws, for rescue to arrive and much to my surprise it did and I began to thrive. Awaiting me, a bath, good food, a soft and fluffy bed no longer living with a heart so filled with fear and dread. I'm told I am a special girl, the company I seek is rarely one with fur or tails amused by toys that squeak. I long for humans, of any shape or size my love of them is boundless and forever will abide. So, if you want a Melody sung to you and you alone call Twilight Tails immediately I'm waiting by the phone. Well. To say we were stunned is an understatement. Not. One. Typo. Melody is a gorgeous 5 to 6 year-old, 60lb, thoughtful, observant, intelligent golden-toned German Shepherd who would love nothing more than to explore the world by your side. She loves to walk and is excellent on a leash. She leans in for love and makes sure to express her appreciation. She is an avid ball player, but back home, she'll happily trade her running and fetching for evenings of cuddles and snuggles. Melody gets along well with the horses, cows, goats and donkeys on the Rescue Ranch. She is dog selective, better with little dogs than big, but would probably be best in a one-dog home. NOTE: THIS IS AN "OUT OF TOWN PET" - that means she is not at this location, but we do have transport here - more about transport below. Currently this dog is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX but can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below. Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who alternate driving. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will be updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
