Summer is a beautiful 4 ½-year-old Labrador Retriever mix weighing around 56 pounds. This medium-sized girl is active, playful, and always ready for fun with the people she loves. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or simply spending time together, Summer is happiest when she’s included. Summer has previously lived in a home with cats and young children. With the right fit, she may even enjoy having a canine companion in her new home. However, Summer should not live with farm animals. She was originally adopted from the shelter in February 2023, but unfortunately found herself back in our care when her family moved. When Summer returned to the shelter, we sadly discovered that she is now heartworm positive and Lyme positive. She is currently undergoing treatment and will need a calmer home environment while she recovers. Because of this, Summer would be available as a foster-to-adopt placement until her heartworm treatment is completed. Despite everything, Summer remains a loving, happy girl who deserves another chance at a forever home.
