About Summer
Summer is a striking black and cream Labrador Retriever mix, 4 ½ years old, and weighing about 56 pounds. She’s medium-sized with a short coat, active, playful, and at her best when included in family life—whether running around, heading out for a walk, or just hanging out with her people. Summer’s joyful energy shines brightest when she feels connected. She’s previously lived with cats and young kids and is open to a canine buddy if the chemistry is right, but she shouldn’t be around farm animals. Summer’s story isn’t straightforward. She was adopted from the shelter early last year and returned when her family relocated. Coming back, the team found she’d become heartworm and Lyme positive. She’s undergoing treatment and needs a quieter home while she heals. Because of that, Summer is currently available as a foster-to-adopt, aiming for a smooth transition after her recovery. Despite setbacks, Summer is still all heart—gentle, loving, and waiting for the family willing to give her the quiet place and patience she deserves. Born January 19th, that makes her a steadfast Capricorn—expect loyalty and plenty of heart. Click apply to start the adoption process.
