About Cali
Cali spent most of her life in her owner’s garage, kept separate from people and other animals. At 9 years old, she has spent years being alone, so navigating a world outside solitude is difficult for her. She’s a petite tortoiseshell Domestic Short Hair who was never spayed, though that was never an issue since she never met another cat. People and dogs frighten her, and becoming comfortable around humans has been a long process. Cali found herself at the shelter when her owner could no longer care for her, which was overwhelming and scary for her. Since moving into foster care, she’s slowly gaining confidence, even learning to explore other rooms and tolerate gentle back scratches—though on her own terms. She loves enrichment activities, interactive toys, and especially treats. She needs slow introductions, patience, and calm, structured routines to thrive. Cali isn’t a lap cat yet and may never be, but she’s making real progress each day. She will do best in a quiet, understanding home that accepts her need for space and time. Think you are the one?
