Nova is a large adult female cat with domestic short hair roots, living in Fishers, IN. She is spayed and faithfully uses her litter box. While she needed time to adjust after arriving in foster care, Nova is making progress in a patient, caring home.

About Nova

Nova’s whole story is about new beginnings. After being adopted from the Indianapolis Humane Society, she found herself needing a fresh start and landed at the shelter after a police officer brought her in. Even though Nova was healthy and already spayed, she was clearly stressed in the shelter, choosing to hide and refusing to eat—no matter what tempting food was offered. She was moved to a foster home where patience paid off; Nova slowly began eating and started relaxing in her new space. She’s quite particular about her comfort zones. She loves having a spacious litter box and sticks to it fastidiously. In her foster home, Nova often claims cozy, hidden spots—a fabric mouse-house cat bed, shelves in the closet, or tucked between a chair and the bed. She can still be hissy or wary if approached when she’s in her refuge, but she’s made progress in letting her foster mom pet her in small, safe moments. Nova’s journey isn’t about fast results; it’s about moving at her own pace with people who respect her boundaries. Give this thoughtful, sensitive cat the time she needs, and you’ll eventually glimpse her braver side. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
