Butterfly came to us as an owner surrender with very little history, so we’ve been spending the last week getting to know her. She weighs around 25 pounds, is recently spayed, and heartworm negative. We believe she may be a 2 yr old, large Shih Tzu mix, though she looks just like a miniature Old English Sheepdog. Dogs that are surrendered often go through a decompression period while adjusting to all the changes in their lives, and Butterfly has been taking things at her own pace. She is a sweet, gentle girl with a very calm personality, usually content to lounge nearby and quietly watch the world around her. While she isn’t overly expressive yet, she’ll often give us a soft tail wag and seems happy just being close. We think she’s simply a laid-back dog who enjoys a slower pace and is still settling into her new routine.
